Mayor de Blasio was asked about his late arrival several times at an unrelated afternoon press conference. Additionally, his office put out a statement that “Mayor de Blasio traveled to the ceremony by boat this morning and the boat was delayed due to heavy fog.” Here’s what he had to say this afternoon:
